Cosmetic Acupuncture in Mount Kisco & Midtown NYC
A gentle, personalized approach designed to support healthy-looking skin, facial relaxation, and overall wellness.
A Personalized Approach to Cosmetic Acupuncture
How your skin Tooks and feels can be influenced by age, stress, sleep, hydration, muscle tension, lifestyle, skincare, and health history. At FCT Family Acupuncture, we begin with a consultation to understand your priorities and create a cosmetic acupuncture plan tailored to you.
Using fine, sterile, single-use needles, treatment may include carefully selected facial and body acupuncture points. The goal is to support relaxation, ease facial tension, and encourage a healthy-looking, naturally refreshed appearance without trying to freeze expression or create an artificial result.
Cosmetic acupuncture is gradual and individualized and may be used alongside appropriate skincare and professional medical care.
How Cosmetic Acupuncture May Support Facial Wellness
Traditional Chinese Medicine Perspective
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, facial appearance is considered in the context of the whole person. Facial and body acupuncture points may be selected to encourage balance, support healthy circulation, and address patterns involving stress, sleep, digestion, muscle tension, and overall
well-being.
Contemporary and Evidence-Informed Perspective
Researchers continue to study how facial acupuncture may
influence local circulation, tissue response, muscle tension, and the appearance of skin. Early observations are promising, but the available research remains limited, and stronger clinical trials are needed. It is a complementary wellness service-not a replacement for dermatology, injectables, or surgery.
Common Cosmetic and Facial Concerns We Support
People choose cosmetic acupuncture for different reasons. During your consultation, we will discuss your concerns, comfort, health history, and expectations.

Fine Lines and Expression Creases
Some people choose cosmetic acupuncture as a gradual, non-surgical option to support a softer and more rested-looking appearance. Results vary, and treatment is not equivalent to injectables, lasers, or cosmetic surgery.

Skin Tone and Texture
A personalized plan may be used to support local circulation and overall skin wellness as part of a broader routine focused on a brighter, smoother, or more even-looking complexion.

Facial Puffiness
Sleep, hydration, diet, allergies, stress, medications, and medical conditions can influence puffiness. Cosmetic acupuncture may be considered after relevant underlying factors are discussed.

Jaw and Facial Tension
Clenching, stress, posture, and repetitive muscle use can contribute to tightness around the jaw, temples, forehead, and neck. Points may be selected to encourage relaxation.

Dull or Tired-Looking Skin
Treatment may combine facial and body acupuncture with practical guidance on sleep, hydration, stress management, and skincare. Appearance-related changes, when they occur, are gradual.

Acne-Prone Skin Support
Acupuncture does not replace dermatologic treatment for active acne, infection, or scarring. When appropriate, it may be used as a complementary wellness service.

Personalized Cosmetic Care at
FCT
Family Acupuncture
We take time to understand the person behind the cosmetic concern. Stress, sleep, facial muscle tension, allergies, hydration, medications, skincare habits, and general health can all influence how your face looks and feels.
Our approach combines traditional acupuncture principles with modern, evidence-informed care. Rather than applying the same facial protocol to everyone, Dr. Wei selects points and adjusts treatment according to your history, skin goals, comfort, and response.
Facial points may be combined with body acupuncture because cosmetic acupuncture is approached as a whole-person wellness service.
Cosmetic acupuncture is intended for people who value subtle, gradual support and realistic expectations. It is not a facelift and cannot guarantee younger-looking skin or permanent results.

FAQs
What is cosmetic acupuncture?
Cosmetic acupuncture, sometimes called facial acupuncture, uses fine, sterile, single-use needles at selected points on the face and body. It is a minimally invasive treatment intended to support a refreshed, natural-looking appearance and overall facial wellness.
What cosmetic concerns may facial acupuncture support?
Patients may consider cosmetic acupuncture for fine lines, facial tension, puffiness, uneven-looking texture, or a dull complexion. Treatment goals are personalized, and results vary. Cosmetic acupuncture does not diagnose or cure medical skin conditions.
What happens during my first appointment?
Dr. Wei Yuan will discuss your health history, medications, skin concerns, sensitivities, previous cosmetic procedures, and appearance goals. Your face and overall condition will be assessed before a personalized cosmetic acupuncture plan is recommended.
Does cosmetic acupuncture hurt?
The needles are extremely thin, and many patients experience little discomfort. Because some areas of the face are more sensitive, you may briefly feel a light pinch, tingling, pressure, or warmth. Tell your practitioner if anything feels uncomfortable.
Is cosmetic acupuncture safe?
Cosmetic acupuncture generally has a good safety record when performed by a licensed practitioner using sterile, single-use needles. Temporary redness, minor bruising, pinpoint bleeding, tenderness, or light-headedness may occasionally occur.
Tell Dr. Wei if you are pregnant, take blood-thinning medication, have a bleeding disorder, recently received facial injections or surgery, or have an active rash, infection, open wound, or severe skin outbreak.
How many cosmetic acupuncture sessions will I need?
There is no standard number of sessions for everyone. Your recommended schedule depends on your skin, age, concerns, goals, health history, and response to treatment. Some patients begin with a series of appointments followed by occasional maintenance sessions.
How soon will I see results, and are they permanent?
Any changes are generally expected to be subtle and gradual. Some patients may notice a more refreshed appearance after a few sessions, while others may need additional treatments or may notice limited change. Results are not guaranteed or permanent, and research on cosmetic acupuncture remains limited.
Is cosmetic acupuncture the same as microneedling, Botox, fillers, or a facelift?
No. Microneedling creates many controlled microchannels in the skin, Botox temporarily reduces selected muscle movement, fillers add volume, and a facelift surgically repositions tissue. Cosmetic acupuncture uses individual acupuncture needles and should not be presented as producing the same results as these procedures.
Can cosmetic acupuncture be combined with other facial treatments?
It may be possible to combine it with certain skincare or cosmetic treatments, but proper timing is important. Tell Dr. Wei about recent or planned Botox, fillers, microneedling, chemical peels, laser treatments, or facial surgery. Treatment may need to be postponed until the skin has healed and your cosmetic provider has given approval.
How should I prepare, and what should I do afterward?
Eat a light meal, stay hydrated, and arrive with a clean face or minimal makeup. Bring information about your medications, skincare products, and recent cosmetic procedures. After treatment, use gentle skincare, avoid rubbing treated areas, and follow any personalized aftercare instructions.
Does insurance cover cosmetic acupuncture?
Because cosmetic acupuncture is generally considered an elective service, many insurance plans do not cover it. Contact FCT Family Acupuncture and your insurance provider before treatment if you have questions about coverage or payment.
